PUR glued square-back printer
There are different types of finishing forbrochure printing.
For runs of less than 40 pages, binding is by metal stitches (staples) or wire’o (metal spirals).
For runs of 40 pages or more, a square spine is used, with an edge that needs to be added to your cover when creating your files.
Printing brochures in pure glued square back (or other products) reduces costs compared tosewn square back printing.
P.U.R. glued square back is a binding that provides a long-lasting finish.
The sheets are not assembled into boards and signatures, as when printed with a spick-and-span or stitched square-back binding, but into the final page format.
Once the pages are in order (without cover), the edge face is milled to create small notches that allow the glue to penetrate each page and ensure perfect adhesion to the back cover.
P.U.R. glue is a highly effective polyurethane adhesive.
It enables high-quality, long-term finishing of a number of products: files, books, catalogs, comics, etc. Once the PUR glue has been applied to the edge of the inner sheets, the cover is immediately added to create a perfectly bound assembly.
All three sides are then trimmed for a perfect, straight finish on all pages.
