Imprimerie Paris Welye offers you different types of binding for your documents.
Your brochures, books, magazines and other multi-page documents can be bound in 4 different ways in our workshops:
– Staples (metal picks) – Metal spirals (wire’o) – Glued square back – Sewn square back
Glued square-back binding is an industrial binding with pages assembled in reading order.
The pages are trimmed on the edge to create a flat spine.
The side of the pages corresponding to the edge of the future book is then notched to allow the glue to penetrate and ensure optimum adhesion of each sheet to the cover.
Once the P.U.R. (high-strength) glue has been added, the cover is positioned directly on the side corresponding to the edge.
To ensure a perfect finish, the other three sides are also trimmed.
Number of pages :
Atimprimerie paris Welye, we recommend a minimum of 40 pages for a perfect bound book.
Various formats are available, with a wide choice of paper for your cover and interior.
Stitched, glued square-back
The binding is used to group the leaves of a book or brochure, folded or not, into a booklet.
The term square back refers to the square shape of the binding.
A rounded shape is also available.
The Welyeprinting house in Paris uses this technique with a glue that ensures the spine stays firmly in place.
A seam can be added to increase the book’s strength and hold over time.
This is known as a glued-stitched square-back.
