Glued square back bindings:
With a clean, elegant finished result, this type of binding is highly recommended for self-publishing of high-quality writing(dissertation, thesis, novel, brochure for your customers, etc.). In order for the glued square-back binding to be adequate, your brochure must have a minimum of 40 pages.
Note also that, in accordance with printing rules, your work must have a number of pages that is a multiple of 2 (in the case of glued square-back binding) or a multiple of 4 (in the case of sewn square-back binding).
With this type of binding, you can opt for either Italian (i.e. horizontal) or French (i.e. vertical) orientation.
When it comes to brochure paper, Welye Imprimerie in Paris and the Paris region offers a wide choice of qualities, from coated paper to all types of creative paper.
If you have any specific requirements, don’t hesitate to discuss them with your Welye printer, who may be able to order the paper needed to print your brochure.
Metal dot binders :
Also known as saddle-stitching or two-stitch, this type of binding involves two metal staples attaching the leaves of your brochure.
For this option to be feasible, your work – of whatever type – must comprise a minimum of 8 pages and a maximum of around 40 pages.
If the number of pages is a multiple of 4, the brochure will be printed as a booklet, so that readers and/or customers can open it easily and enjoy using it.
Generally speaking, wire-stitch binding is the most common option, especially for commercial brochures.
As with glued square-back binding, you can also choose the quality of your paper after reviewing your request with Welye.
Metal spiral binders :
Very popular with the general public, metal spiral binding allows you to rotate your media through 360°.
What’s more, the number of pages must be a multiple of 2 (and not 4, as is usual in the printing industry), which makes it easier to use.
Whatever type of binding you choose, in addition to choosing the quality of your paper, you can opt for different types of finishing and finishing.
