Everything about your saddle-stitched brochures in Paris

The saddle-stitched brochure is the most common and most economical binding: sheets are folded then stapled through the spine. Ideal for programmes, light catalogues and booklets, it is printed in Paris by Welye, made to measure and checked before press.

Papers and materials

A successful brochure plays on the contrast between inside pages and cover. For the inside, we work with coated or uncoated stocks from 90 to 170 gsm, supple enough to turn easily and opaque enough to avoid show-through. The cover takes on body with a 250 to 350 gsm sheet that protects the booklet and gives it a fine feel in hand. It is this balance that separates a plain booklet from a carefully crafted object.

Sizes and dimensions

A4 is the natural choice for catalogues and reports, A5 for easy-to-carry programmes and booklets, A6 for compact notebooks. The square 21 × 21 format brings a graphic, contemporary touch much appreciated in publishing. Page count ranges from 8 to 64 pages, always in multiples of 4, a constraint inherent to saddle stitching. And if your project calls for an unusual format, custom sizes remain possible.

Finishes and options

The 2 metal staple binding is clean, solid and fast to produce, perfect for short runs as well as larger series. On the cover, matt, gloss or soft-touch lamination protects and enhances the print, while hot foil and spot UV highlight a title or a logo. A cover heavier than the inside pages further reinforces the perceived quality, without weighing down the whole or making it harder to handle.

Uses and custom work

Programmes, menus, booklets, light magazines, internal newsletters, sales brochures, thin catalogues or exercise books: saddle stitching covers a wide range of uses, from €349 excl. VAT for 100 copies of 8 to 12 pages. Every editorial project has its own pagination and finishing constraints, and we handle them with you one by one.
