Everything about perfect-bound brochure printing in Paris

Perfect binding gives your documents the look and feel of a real book: a flat spine that can carry the title, cleanly glued pages and a thick cover that showcases the content. At Welye, a perfect-bound brochure printer in Paris, we produce catalogues, magazines, annual reports, portfolios and premium books, from a single copy to large runs. Above all, we work to measure: each brochure is built around your page count, your paper and its intended use, never from a fixed template.

Sizes

A4 and A5 portrait remain the go-to sizes for catalogues and magazines, while landscape A4 and square formats (21 × 21 cm, 24 × 24 cm) are very popular for portfolios and lookbooks. We also produce portrait or landscape layouts, from compact A6 to a generous 24 × 32 cm. A non-standard size, a precise square or dimensions set by your brand guidelines? We do it: send us your measurements and we set imposition and spine accordingly.

Papers & weights

  • Inner pages in gloss or matt coated stock from 90 to 170 gsm, for crisp images and solid colours
  • Offset and creative papers (textured, recycled, tinted) for a more natural feel
  • Reinforced cover from 250 to 350 gsm, ideal for lamination and long-term durability
  • A specific, FSC-certified or particularly thick paper: just ask and we source it

Binding & gluing

Hotmelt gluing suits most everyday brochures and catalogues. For heavy use, thick coated pages or a flatter opening, PUR glue offers markedly higher strength and a more flexible spine. Allow roughly 40 pages minimum to obtain a glueable spine, and up to several hundred depending on inner weight. Page count is always worked in multiples of 2.

Cover finishes

The cover makes all the difference: gloss, matt or soft-touch lamination to protect and enhance the artwork, spot UV to lift a logo or title, hot foil and embossing for a premium finish. The flat spine lends itself to title printing as soon as thickness allows. A special finish in mind, a flap to add or a particular overprint? We do it: tell us about your project and we find the right solution.

Preparing your file

Supply a high-resolution CMYK PDF with 3 to 5 mm bleed and keep text clear of trims and the spine fold. The cover is prepared as a single spread (spine included), whose width depends on the final thickness of the book; we calculate that spine width for you based on the chosen paper and page count. Our prepress studio checks every file before printing and can handle the layout if needed. When in doubt, send your files: we review them for free.
