Everything about leaflet and folder printing

The leaflet remains the most effective way to present a full offer on a single piece: a product range, a restaurant menu, an event programme or a corporate folder. At Welye, a printing house in Paris, we produce your leaflets and folders from file to final fold, with clean creasing and papers chosen to last. Here is everything you need to make your project a success, and above all how we tailor it to your specific case.

Sizes and folds

The most requested sizes run from folded A6 to open A3, including A4 finished A5 (half fold) and A4 finished DL in three panels, the classic commercial leaflet. The fold choice organises the reading: half fold for a simple message, tri-fold roll or zigzag for a range, cross or gate fold for a high-impact folder. A non-standard size, an unusual fold, a special die-cut? We do it: tell us about your project and we work out the panels to measure.

Papers & weights

Weight drives how the leaflet feels in hand and how sharp the folds turn out. Here are the most common options, knowing a specific fine paper is always possible on request.

  • Coated 115 to 135 gsm: flexible and economical, ideal for large-run leaflets meant for wide distribution.
  • Coated 170 to 250 gsm: the benchmark for commercial folders, firm in hand, with a premium feel.
  • Matt, gloss or silk papers depending on the colour rendering and the touch you want.
  • Fine, recycled or textured papers: we source the stock that matches your brand image.

Finishes and converting

Beyond printing, it is the finishing that gives a leaflet its perceived quality. Creasing is systematic on heavy weights to keep the ink layer from cracking at the fold. Matt, gloss or soft-touch lamination protects a frequently handled piece and enhances the feel. To go further, we offer spot 3D varnish to lift a logo, hot foiling, embossing or a custom die-cut. An extra finish you have in mind is never ruled out: describe it and we find the solution.

Offset or digital

For short runs and tight deadlines, digital printing is the most responsive: no make-ready, a controlled cost up to a few hundred copies, and the option of a 48h express run. Beyond that, offset becomes more attractive: colour quality stays consistent across large runs and the unit cost drops sharply with quantity. We steer you toward the right method based on your volume, budget and deadline, without locking you into a single option.

Preparing your file

A well-folded leaflet starts with a well-built file. Work in CMYK, at 300 dpi, with 3 mm bleed on each edge and text kept clear of folds and trim. The key point specific to leaflets: planning the panel layout, since a tucked-in panel must be slightly shorter so it sits without buckling. No worries, we provide a template with fold and safety zones, and we check every file before launch. No artwork ready? Our prepress studio in Paris lays out your leaflet from start to finish.
