Roll-up banners: which size should you choose?

Published 11 June 2026 · Welye advice

The roll-up banner is the most ordered event product — and the first question is always the same: which width? Here is how to decide in two minutes.

The standard widths

The reading-distance rule

Allow roughly 1 cm of letter height per metre of distance. A headline read at 5 metres needs 5 cm letters — this criterion, more than budget, should usually decide the width.

Single or double-sided?

If visitors walk past on both sides (central aisle, room entrance), a double-sided roll-up doubles your visibility for the same footprint.

The bottom of the graphic: sacrificed zone

The last 20–30 cm are barely visible once there is a crowd. Place secondary elements there (website, legal lines) — never your main message or logo.

Files & lead times

A high-resolution PDF with bleed is enough — our artwork guide covers it all, and the file check is free. Standard lead time 3–5 days, 24/48h express if your show is close. Premium base: the banner can be replaced without buying a new structure.
