Dressing your shop window in vinyl: printed, frosted, one-way vision or lettering?

Your shop window is a communication surface working 24/7 — often the most visible one a business has. Four vinyl families let you make the most of it, each with its own personality. Here's how to choose, and why installation is a craft.

Printed vinyl: the image at full power

A full-colour visual across white vinyl, or a play of transparency on clear film: this is the finish of campaigns, openings and seasonal windows. On clear vinyl, the visual converses with the light — superb for a "graphic glasshouse" effect that keeps the shop bright.

Frosted: understated elegance

The etched-glass effect dresses the pane while preserving light and privacy: offices, restaurants, practices, salons. As bands, patterns or a "negative" logo (the motif stays clear within the frosted film), it's the finish that ages best — beautiful for years without dating.

One-way vision: see without being seen

Printed street-side, see-through shop-side: perforated film lets you advertise on the façade without darkening the interior or blocking the view. It's the ally of sun-drenched windows. Worth knowing: at night, when interior lighting comes on, the effect reverses — we design the visual with that in mind.

Cut lettering: information that lasts

Name, opening hours, tagline: letters cut from through-dyed vinyl, applied directly to the glass. It's the most durable solution for permanent information. Retail's winning duo: permanent lettering + seasonal printed visual — the identity stays, the campaign changes.

Installation: where it's all decided

A botched application — bubbles, creases, trapped dust — ruins the best visual. Professional fitting starts with a full clean of the glass, is done wet or dry depending on the material, and ends squeegeed, bubble-free. We print and install in Paris, with on-site measuring available and early-morning intervention so business isn't disturbed: see our vinyl installation & removal service.

The 4 questions to ask before choosing

  • How long must the finish stay up? A two-week sale and a permanent storefront don't call for the same material.
  • How much sun? South-facing glass calls for UV-rated materials and lamination.
  • Must the light come through? Frosted and one-way vision keep the interior bright; solid vinyl darkens it.
  • Who removes the old visual? Quality film peels cleanly — removal is part of our service.
