Greeting cards and calendars 2027: the business guide to ordering on time
Published on 27 October 2026 · Welye advice
Greeting cards and calendars are the two printed items your clients keep the longest: one sits on a desk in January, the other stays in sight for twelve months. They still have to arrive on time. Here is the 2027 ordering calendar, the formats and papers that work, the public holidays to include in your grid and starting budgets.
In short
- ✓2027 calendars: visuals by Friday 13 November, proof approved by Friday 20 November 2026 for delivery in early December.
- ✓Greeting cards: proof by 4 December for a card received before Christmas, by 11 December for New Year cards posted in early January.
- ✓Formats: A6, square or DL card, single or folded; wall, desk easel, pocket or tear-off calendar.
- ✓Starting budgets: cards from €49 excl. VAT for 100 copies, calendars from €149 excl. VAT.
- ✓Etiquette: in France, New Year wishes are sent from 1 to 31 January.
The 2027 back-planning
November and December are a printer's busiest months: cards, calendars, year-end catalogues and January trade-show displays are all produced at once. The dates below leave enough margin for a calm proofing stage and stress-free delivery.
| Date | Step |
| By Friday 13 November 2026 | Calendars: choose the model and format, send the twelve visuals (or four seasons), the logo and the key dates of your year. |
|---|---|
| By Friday 20 November | Calendars: proof approval. Production, spiral binding and hanging holes, delivery in early December for distribution before the holidays. |
| By Friday 4 December | Season's greetings cards: proof approval. Standard lead time for cards: 4 to 6 working days, express available. |
| By Friday 11 December | January New Year cards: proof approval, cards and envelopes delivered before the year-end break. |
| Monday 4 to Sunday 31 January 2027 | Send your New Year cards, hand out calendars at the first meetings of the year. |

Greeting cards: formats, papers and finishes
A business greeting card is judged in a second, by touch. Paper and finish are what get it kept on a desk rather than thrown away with the post.
| Choice | Options | Our advice |
| Format | A6 (105 × 148 mm), square (e.g. 140 × 140 mm), long DL, custom | A square card stands out in a pile of post; DL slips into a slim envelope. |
|---|---|---|
| Fold | Single card (one sheet) or folded (four sides) | A folded card leaves room for a handwritten message inside. |
| Paper | Textured fine papers 300 to 400 gsm, matt or gloss coated, recycled | A thick textured paper gives a festive feel without a costly finish. |
| Finishes | Hot foil (gold, silver, copper), embossing, spot UV, soft-touch, die-cutting | One well-placed finish (logo, “2027”) is enough to make the card shine. |
| Personalisation | Recipient's name, numbering, matching envelopes | Envelopes printed with your logo complete the mailing. |
All options are detailed on our correspondence cards and envelopes page; for tactile effects, see hot foil, 3D spot UV and embossing.
2027 calendars: which model for which use?
| Model | Common format | Best for |
| Wall calendar | A4, A3, A2 · spiral binding and hanging hole | Shops, workshops, practices, waiting rooms: one image per month in your brand style. |
|---|---|---|
| Desk easel | 10 × 21 cm | B2B clients: it stays on the workstation all year. |
| Pocket calendar | Card size | Slip it into the greeting card or hand it out in store. |
| Tear-off calendar | Daily pad | One message or tip a day, for a brand that likes storytelling. |
Coated paper from 135 to 250 gsm for vivid visuals, board cover for wall models, one image per month or per season and a custom grid with your key dates: everything is on our custom calendars page. For your team's planners, see also custom diaries.
French public holidays 2027 for your grid
An accurate grid avoids a reprint: here are the eleven national public holidays of 2027 in mainland France. Easter falls on Sunday 28 March 2027.

|---|---|
| Easter Monday | Monday 29 March |
| Labour Day | Saturday 1 May |
| Ascension Day | Thursday 6 May (long weekend possible on Friday 7) |
| Victory in Europe Day | Saturday 8 May |
| Whit Monday | Monday 17 May |
| Bastille Day | Wednesday 14 July |
| Assumption | Sunday 15 August |
| All Saints' Day | Monday 1 November |
| Armistice Day | Thursday 11 November (long weekend possible on Friday 12) |

In Alsace and Moselle, add Good Friday (26 March 2027) and St Stephen's Day (Sunday 26 December). Remember your own dates too: trade shows, company anniversary, sales, summer closures.
Three combinations that work
The greeting card with a pocket calendar
A folded card on fine paper with the 2027 pocket calendar slipped inside: the recipient keeps the calendar in their wallet long after the card is put away.
The desk easel for B2B clients
Handed over at the first January meeting or sent with your New Year wishes, it displays your brand on the client's desk for twelve months. Choose visuals of your projects, your team or your products.
The wall calendar for shops and private customers
One photo a month plus your opening hours, contact details and key dates in the grid: it is the most hung-up print in kitchens, workshops and waiting rooms.
Preparing your files
- ✓3 mm bleed and text at least 3 mm from the edge, especially near a calendar's spiral.
- ✓300 dpi images at actual size, in CMYK; a screenshot or social media visual is not enough for A3.
- ✓Foil and varnish: provide a separate spot-colour vector layer for each finish.
- ✓Calendar grid: check public holidays, week numbers and key dates before the proof; one mistake is repeated on every copy.
Details are in our print file guide; every file is checked free of charge before the proof. No artwork? Our design studio takes care of it. And for a lighter footprint, recycled and FSC-certified papers are available: see our eco-friendly printing guide.
